Newbery Challenge – Completed

Nattie over at Nattie Writes started the Newbery Challenge – perfect for those who love to read award winning children’s books!

Nattie, unfortunately, lost her battle with cancer on June 7th 2007 – she was only 33 and has left two young children behind – please spare a moment to pray for these two children.

I will continue with the challenge in her memory.

Here are the rules:

1. Pick 6 books from the Newbery list.
2. Comment on Natties blog that you are in the challenge and link to your blog.
3. Post your picks on your blog.
4. You have from May 15, 2007 to Dec 31, 2007 to read and review the 6 books you choose.

Here is my List:
A Year Down Yonder by Richard Peck (Available at Public Library) – Read 11/09/07 – Review is here
The Midwife’s Apprentice by Karen Cushman – Read 20/05/07 – Review is here
Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech – Read 10/07/07 – Review is here
Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan – Read 03/08/07Review is here
Miracles on Maple Hill
by Virginia Sorensen – Read 18/09/07Review is here
Jacob Have I Loved by Katherine Paterson Read 01/10/07Review is here

I picked Sarah, Plain and Tall because it was one of Nattie’s picks – and a group of us agreed to read one from her list so her choices get read. I figured this was a good one – because a mum dies and left her little children behind. But the kids turn out OK.
